Madeline Spiers and Gabriel Nielsen; Two teenagers, and to them, skating is everything.
[Pic. of Skates}
When their skating instructor, Igor, comes up with "Romeo and Juliet," as a new skating theme, everything seems to change for them.
They soon begin to fall in love. As Mrs. Nielson told them when learning to skate, "Nothing hurts worse than fighting a fall."
However, Maddie's parents seem to be keeping secrets from her, and another skating pair, Kate and Chris, are going through some serious relationship troubles of their own.
Eventually, Gabe and Maddie try to start a relationship, even though Gabe's previous relationships have only lasted up to two weeks, and he's afraid this one won't last either.
Kate knows what being in a relationship can do to the skating performance, and reminds Maddie of her theme. "Remember how it ends."
