Storyboard about Gandhi's life from start to finish.
Welcome to South Africa
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is born October the 2nd 1869, in Porbandar,India. He is born into a Hindu middle class family.
After barely passing his exams, Mohandas Gandhi trained to be a lawyer in 1820, Britain.
Now he was a trained lawyer, Mohandas went to South Africa and set up his own attorney business.
Then, he bought a first-class ticket for a train to go to the South of South Africa. However, the train managers didn't believe he was an attorney as he was coloured and thought he had stole the ticket. They threw him out at the next stop which was several miles from where he wanted to go.
After he saw and experienced all the racism and prejudice in South Africa and India, he started to protest in a non-violent way. One of these protests was the Salt March. Thousands of people joined him along his march.
Eventually,Britain let go of India and let it be an independent country. However, there were still people who disagreed with Gandhi. On January 30th 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was shot three times in the chest by a fellow Hindu by the name of Nathuram Godse. He died at the age of 78.
