- While walking home one day Sam wondered how long it was from the bottom the bridge to the top on the other side.
- Sam realized early that week he had learnt formulae on how to find missing sides of a Triangle but he didn't have any measurements.
- He went up to the bridge and walked up and down it for 30 minutes trying to find a rough estimate of the length of the bridge.
- He estimated the length to be 4 km and the angle to be 40 degrees. He then labeled the sides.

- He then picked from the three formulae he learnt SOH, CAH and TOA. He new he had O and A so he went with TOA.
