Well, the caste system was divided into four different parts. The priests were highest, then the warriors, the farmers, craftspeople, and traders were next, and the lowest were the servants and workers.
The caste system divided the Indian society into groups based one their person's birth, wealth, or occupation.

One of the religions taught in India was Jainism. Jainism didn't want to be hinduism. Instead of doing a lot of rituals, they emphasized four basic principals. The principals were injure no life, tell the truth, do not steal, and own no property. Jainism practiced nonviolence and were vegetarians.
