  • Newton's First Law
  • The football will stay at rest unless it is kicked.
  • Newton's First Law
  • The football will stay in the same direction and speed unless the defender blocks it.
  • Newton's Second Law
  • The more force applied to the ball results in a greater acceleration. Using the equation F=ma, the bar would not go as far if the force it is kicked with is 10N.
  • Newton's Second Law
  • But if the ball is kicked with a force of 50N, it would go much farther.
  • Newton's Third Law
  • Newton's Third Law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  • Newton's Third Law
  • The player kicking the ball is the action force, while the reaction force is the ball pushing on the foot.
