Sharon: Peppered moths had a color change many years ago because of air pollution during the industrial evolution. The moths went a lot darker and became black bodied moths. Charli: Did the moths ever go back to there normal light color?
Sharon: Yes, when the pollution was reduced, the light colored moths became predominant. Charli: before the industrial evolution, were there many black moths Sharon: They were very rare
Charli: what is evolution? SHaron: Evolution is the study of the gradual change in living things over time Charli: That's like the moths going black and then going back to there lighter color
Charli: apart from the industrial revolution why else were there so many more black ones at the time? Sharon: there was also more black moths because the birds can see the lighter moths so less of them were able to survive. the black moths were given a selection advantage because they can blend in more in the environment
Charli: that is so cool how the moths have changed over time. Sharon: Yes. they are a very interesting specie
