  • Harry S Truman was the 33rd president of the United States. His nickname was, "Give em hell Harry." He was a Democrat. In his first term he rose as president when Franklin Roosevelt died. His second term he won 303 out of 531 electoral collage votes. 
  • Domestic / Foregin Issue
  • We need to make this a safe, war free place.
  • As a child he went to middle and high school.  When he was a little bit older he attended the University of Kansas City Law School. Harry was a business man, he worked several different jobs and also worked on his fathers farm for awhile. He also severed in the military as a captain of artillery in World War One. Right before his presidency he was a senator for 10 years.

  • Truman is know for having many quotes but the one that he is most know for goes, "The buck stops here." He had these words on a sign on his desk. By this he meant to say he didn't 'pass the bunk' to anyone else but accepted personal responsibility for the way the country was governed.

  • After WW2 Truman had to make sure that the United States could prevent from going to war. He had to work had to make sure that differences between nations could be fixed before it leads to more wars. 
  • The biggest accomplishment of the United States while Truman was in office was during the Korean Wars. The United States under-toke a major military operation. Truman had to send U.S air and navel forces to South Korea to help fix the invasion by North Korea. He had to make a call to end all hostilities lower the spread of communism in Asia. 
  • Fun Facts about Harry Truman. 1. The S in Truman's name does not stand for anything his parents could not decide which grandfather to name him after. 2. He was the only president in the 1900s to not attend collage. 3.  He married his high school sweetheart.
