  • The Narrator had a great friendship with an old man but the old man's eye vexed the Narrator.

  • The Narrator watched the man every night because of his eye but didn't know if he should harm the man.
  • Falling Action
  • One night the Narrator made to much noise and the old man caught him.
  • Resolution
  • The Narrator chose to kill the man that night and so he crept in and ended the man's life because of his creepy eye.
  • The Narrator hid the man's body under the floorboards. The next day the police came because of a noise complaint from the neighbors.
  • The Narrator confesses to the crime because he can hear his heart beating and he confuses it for the old man's heart out of guilt.
