Storyboard Text

  • (4.1.105-107)
  • And in this borrowed likeness of shrunk death, Thou shalt continue two-and-forty hours and then awake as from a peaceful sleep.
  • (4.1.122)
  • Give me, give me! O, tell me not of fear!
  • Death is my son-in-law. Death is my heir. My daughter he hath wedded. I will die, and leave him all. Life, living, all is death's.
  • (4.5.38-40)
  • Chain me with roaring bears; or shut me nightly in a charnel house, o'ercovered quite with dead man's rattling bones, with reeky shanks and yellow chapless skulls; or bid me go into a new-made grave and hide me with a dead man in his shroud.
  • Friar Lawrence is telling Juliet how long she will be asleep for if she takes the vial.
  • (4.1.80-85)
  • Juliet's desperate tone shows that she is anxious for Romeo because she doesn't want to marry Paris.
  • (2.6.1-37)
  • So smile the heavens upon this holy act that after-hours with sorrow chide us not... (2.6.1-2)
  • Capulet comes in to find Juliet "dead" and starts to weep about it with Lady Capulet and Nurse and Paris. Capulet personifies death as a person.
  • (4.3.14-58)
  • Juliet verbally states her thoughts about being put in a grave to Friar. She went to him for advice about marrying Paris when she's already married to Romeo. Juliet was going to kill herself to prevent being married to Paris.
  • I blame the Friar for the mistakes. First of all, he secretly married Romeo and Juliet. Second, when Romeo was accused of killing Tybalt, he hid Romeo in his cell until it was okay to go back to Mantua. Third, he gave Juliet a sleeping potion to prevent her from marrying Paris. He never should have married Romeo and Juliet, and Juliet wouldn't have to take the potion and she wouldn't be unfaithful to anyone.
  • Juliet gives a really important soliloquy about her leaving. In this soliloquy, Juliet says her goodbyes as well as her worries about taking this. She is most worried about this not working and she will have to marry Paris in the morning and be unfaithful to Romeo.
