Cold War History by Allison Sipe
The Cold war was not a war that was fought over. It was a war where 2 major world powers threatened to blow each other away.
The 2 super powers (U.S. and Soviet Union) were threatening each other with weapons of mass destruction. Both super powers fear that one or the other would use those weapons against each other.
The main reason the 2 powers were fighting was because of ideological differences. The U.S. democracy while Soviet Russia was Communism.
Democracy has almost no similarities with Communism. The 2 have conflicting opinions where neither one can live side by side
The cold war lasted for 45 years with constant fear of being annihilated. But in the end no nukes were dropped and everyone lived.
