The Curse of the Chameleon
a traditional Zulu story about why humans die
Grandma, why do humans die?
Well Hope, it all started a long time ago after God created all living things....
God looked down at all of his creations, proud of what he had accomplished, but soon enough realized that the skins of the humans he had created were getting withered and old.
So God called on his trusted Chameleon and told him he had a special package for the Chameleon to deliver to the humans.
This is urgent so hurry!
Heyy... why don't you come over to my place for lunch?
I really have to hurry but I guess I could stop off for a bite to eat
The Chameleon was hurrying along but at the river was stopped by the Snake who was very jealous of the humans.
I think I'm just going to doze off for a little bit...
The Snake's wife had prepared a whole meal and by the end, the Chameleon was stuffed and forgot all about his mission.
Oooh new ssskinssss
The snake took the package to the other room while the Chameleon was sleeping and opened it!
