The middle colonies made money from their factories. Their factories produce iron, textiles, and much more. Their climate is mild and they have decent soil.
The southern colonies made money from plantations, where African slaves worked for no pay. The soil was rich and fertile, while the climate was warm. They grew cash crops such as Tobacco and cotton.
