  • Separating the executive, legislative, and judicial branches into three separate bodies of power.

  • Emphasized that the Constitution would create a federal system. Believed that power should be divided between a central and a regional government
  • Federalist
  • A movement that disagreed with making a stronger federal government for the US.
  • Anti-Federalist
  • A document consisting of 10 amendments that gave the people of the US hard won rights and personal freedoms from the government.
