Storyboard Text

  • Hey Mom! In June, I am off to Florida State University and it's time for me to get a credit card.
  • I think you are ready for one. Let's go to the bank to open an account for you and get answers to questions you may have.
  • Sydney, are you ready for this?
  • Yes, ma'am! Do you know about the 2009 Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act?
  • No baby, tell me!
  • Okay, sweetie! Let's go in!
  • It states if I am under 21 yrs. old, I need to have a co signer or documentation of sufficient income.
  • Welcome ladies! My name is Tim. To set up a credit card account, you must pay an account set-up fee which is luckily not an annual payment.
  • Excuse me, sir. I pretty much aware of everything when it comes to rates. How can I obtain my credit report?
  • No problem and I am also aware of the annual interest rates that is charged as the cost of using credit
  • You can get your credit report from three credit bureaus named Experian, Transunion, & Equifax. You are entitled to a free copy from each once a year.
  • That's amazing! Thank you for all of your help!
  • Even though your credit score is not included in your credit report, you may request it for a small fee.
  • Thanks Mom for supporting my decision.
  • I will always support you, but you are responsible for paying the expenses of the card because your credit history affects mine as well.
