  • This is a picture of the Indians helping the farmers.  Indians would help farmers plant because in return they get some of the fruits and vegetables that they helped grow.  The entire family had to work on the farm to survive.
  • This is a picture of the boys doing one of their normal chores.  These chores include stoking fires, getting water, milk the cows, and churn cream.  
  • Women had to spin wool, repair clothes, and tend to the garden.  The pioneers also made soap out of lye, ashes, and water.
  • Children on the frontier attended a one room school house during winter and summer
  • One of the first things farmers had to do when they bought a farm was build the barn to protect the animals
  • When the frontiers wanted to do something fun they had dances
