For CEP 811 - a failure that I have experienced in my life.
When I was a senior in high school, I auditioned for my school's spring musical. I had a callback and I felt very confident. However, I ended up "failing" and not getting a role. My sister, best friend, and other friends who auditioned all got roles in the play without me.
I was mad and had a really difficult time being happy for my friends. I felt inferior and upset. However, my friends encouraged me to still work on the musical by building the set and working on props. I learned that sometimes failure can lead to a different opportunity because I ended up loving working on the set!
I learned that failure can really suck! It can bring out ugly traits in you that you didn't know you had. But also, sometimes it can lead to something else that is good for you, or even better. As cheesy as it sounds, I think that everything happens for a reason - even if it's hard to see right away.
