A little boy was doing some HSIE homework with his Mum. When he came to a question that stopped him. He asked, "Mum how do humans cause land degradation and how can we fix it.?"
"That's a good question son!" Mum replied. "I'll tell you a little story". "Once there was a lovely Rainforest full of wildlife and lovely scenery.
It was a peaceful winters night. Until the local town ran out of paper. The people decided to get big tractors and knock down every tree they could see. Even killing wildlife, taking away there home and food.
As the man drove away, not noticing the damage he had done to the flora and fauna. All he could think of was the money from selling all the wood and the paper they made from it. Not caring that the animals will no longer have anyplace to live or any food to eat.
That's the end," said mum. "Mum," asked the little boy. "Yes" Replied mum. "How do I stop land degradation,?" said the boy, Mum replied, "A good way I learn't over the years is to recycle."
"Hello class, I'm going to talk to you about recycling, it can stop land degradation and we can enjoy natures gift and all the flora and fauna can live happy and healthy with homes and food".
