Storyboard Text

  • Indonesia has the third largest tropical forest which contains many species of plants and animals. But, Indonesia is ranked second in the world for deforestation which is constantly occurring and deleting trees and plants.
  • The constant deforestation occurs because the palm oil production is increasing and that requires land.  The deforestation causes animals in that area to lose their habitats and eventually die if they can't find somewhere else to live.  Many species are decreasing everyday.
  • The Palm Oil production not only decreases plants and animals, but it also creates pollution. There is a big amount of carbon dioxide released as a result of the burning woods from trees. If the palm oil businesses continue to get rid of forest areas, then eventually all the forests and trees in Indonesia will be gone in approximately 100 years.
