Storyboard Text

  • After the passage of the Fugitive Slave Law...
  • Did you hear about the slaves that escaped from the South, who almost died of starvation, or the one whose entire family was sold and moved to a completely different state?
  • Someone needs to write a book to educate people about the horrors of slavery...
  • 1851
  • Congratulations Ms. Stowe, your book, "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is officially published!
  • In the North...
  • I have always known that slavery was wrong, but I never knew that it was as bad as it explains in this book. The book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" has opened my eyes to see that slavery has to end.
  • Everyone else who has read this book has to see that slavery is as wrong as I believe it is. Slavery has to be abolished, or ended.
  • In the South...
  • This book makes me furious! Everything in the book is distorted! Harriet Beecher Stowe is trying to stop slavery!
  • Again in the South...
  • The book "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is banned from this store. Thank You. -store management
  • It is very nice to meet you, President Lincoln.
  • So you're the little woman who wrote the book that made this Great War?
