  • Hi I'm Andrew Allred.  Welcome to your first lesson on how to create a new Canvas Course.  Canvas is beneficial for students because...

  • Hopefully you already have a login for Canvas.  After you log in, you're going to select Create New Course from this side menu.  It will then ask you to name your course.

  • Modules Course Information
  • After you have named your course, you will begin creating your course.  I'm going to start by showing you how to create syllabus in your course. You could write or copy the syllabus right into the course.

  • The other option is to upload a syllabus under one of your modules.  This is what I typiclally do because I had already created the syllubus in Microsoft Word.
  • This also gives me a chance to show you a brief overview of creating a module.
  • The final step of this introductory video is setting your course home page.  I like the home page to be the modules because it serves as a pathway through the course.
