If you let me work, the family will earn more money!
If I let you work, our family will be looked down upon!
Isaiah and Delilah had two children, one named Eli and the other named Athena. Their family owned a carpentry in town. Only the men worked there, while the women stayed home and did the housework. However, Athena was very interested in architecture and it was her dream to be able to work at the carpentry.
You're never going to be able to work Athena. Just give up.
Athena, you're a young woman who is going to work at home and marry.
I agree with Isaiah.
Eli knows that Athena really wants to work at the carpentry, so he teases her about it everyday. It never used to annoy Athena as much, but it's starting to affect her.
Two Days Later...
I can't work here, but what if I can go to another town and find work?
While Eli is still at work, Athena and Isaiah get into a heated argument over Athena being able to work. Athena argues that her mother can do the work at home while she is earning more money for the family, but Isaiah says their family will be looked down upon for generations.
A Nearby Town...
No. Can you help me find work?
You're not from here, are you?
Eli hears about the argument between Athena and Isaiah, and teases Athena even more about wanting to work. Delilah also agrees with Isaiah, which makes Athena even more upset. Isaiah also wants Athena to marry.
Athena thinks on her problem for a few days, before finally deciding that she will leave and travel to a nearby town to find work.
Athena meets a woman her age, who helps her find work at the local carpentry. Without knowing it, this woman has made Athena's dream come true.
