  • Japan had began making aggressive actions in order to gain land and natural resources.  They began terrorizing China. At this time, Japan was known as the imperialist Empire of Japan. Their leader was Hideki Tojo. 
  • Hitler and Stalin Pact
  • It's a pleasure to be one of your allies, Mr. Hiter. 
  • The United States saw that the rise of the Empire of Japan depended on natural resources, which Japan did not have. America put an embargo on Japan, preventing them from getting their resources from them.
  • Date Which Will Live in Infamy
  • Yesterday, December 7th, 1941—a date which will live in infamy.
  • Japan bombed the American fort of Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. On December 11, 1941, America officially declared war on Japan and entered World War Two. 
  • September 2, 1945
  • We officially surrender to the Axis powers on September 2, 1945. 
  • In 1939, Nazi-Germany and the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact. This pact was followed for two years, until Nazi-Germany attacked te Soviet Union. 
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt gave his famous Pearl Harbor speech, titled "The Infamy Speech", the day after the Pearl Harbor bombing. This speech was an address to Congress, asking it to declare war on Japan. 
  • September 2, 1945 was the day that World War Two officially ended. On this day, the Axis powers surrendered. The Allied powers accepted this on May 8th, and Hitler committed suicide the following day.
