  • Things remained this way until 1986, when Marvel started being bought by various companies, including one that sold perfume. Seven great artists left in 1992 because Marvel wouldn't give them character rights.
  • And here's our plan to make this comic company smooth and silky.
  • Things got worse. In 1996, the company went bankrupt. Also, one of their most famous artists complained about not getting credit for his work.
  • I'm ruined! Where did it all go wrong?!
  • Marvel also started releasing trading cards and movies. Their first big theater hit was this movie.
  • Marvel pulled itself out of bankruptcy in 2001. It has since focused more on movies with its Marvel Studios branch. It is also the world's largest comic book company and is traded on the New York stock exchange as MVL.
