  • George and Lennie are running from there home town to avoid a problem Lennie has caused. however they both mention "the dream" of owning a farm. both of them symbolize the average person with an american dream. therefore the theme is that all people have a american dream. 
  • chaper 6 page 107
  • candy the old mans dog dies. he was shot by carlson. candys dogs death foreshadows lennies deal towards the end of the book. the theme taking place in this chapter is that friends look after eachother and take care of one another, candy said himself that he should've shot the dog himself

  • in this chapter lennie kills curleys wife in the barn by snapping her neck. the killing of curleys wife completely ruins the dream of owning the farm and tending to the rabbits, this theme is that all dreams can cause dreams to fail.

  • Lennie goes to the spot goerge said to go if he gets in to danger and by the river george shoots lennie to protect him. the death of lennie is the death of the dream because lennie was the glue keeping the dream together. so the best layed plans of mice and men often go ary
