I got some books for us to read together, I want you to be the best reader ever!
Wow! Thanks mom! You're the best!
We read together every night, improving my reading level. This made us both love to read.
The first time I was exposed to reading was in first grade. My teacher taught us all the letters and their sounds. We read short stories in class and eventually learned to read on our own. Overtime my reading improved and I was reading above grade level.
And they all lived happily ever after!!! The End!
I was ahead of the other kids in my class because my mom helped me read books at home. She bought me lots of books for us to read together and we read one or two every night.

Spelling Bee Today!
My mother and I spent most of our reading time reading the Magic Tree House series. This quickly became our favorite series to read as we both loved the stories and the time we spent together.
The cow, uh, j-umped uh over the m-oon.
Polly read that sentence to me.
I took the books my mom gave me every where. I read them whenever I had free time. On the bus, in the car, on the playground, you name it. I was always reading.
Later my teacher asked me if I would like to enter the spelling bee at my school. Of course I accepted, I wanted to show off my skills and all my hard work.
Apparently my hard work wasn't as hard as some of the other kids and I didn't win the spelling bee. But I wanted to try again the following year. To win, I had to keep practicing, so that's what I did.
