  • This story takes place in England 1547. There are two boys and a king. One boy is named the Prince and the other one is Tom Canty. Tom goes into the town when he is bullied by the guards. The Prince does not like this and brings him into the palace where they exchange clothes.
  • climax
  • After they swap clothes no one can tell their difference. The true Prince is kicked out of the palace while Tom Canty is seen as the true Prince. They begin to start to live each others' lives. They then start to face each others' challenges, such as being poor and low in power. The Prince is then sent to jail with his new friend Miles Hendon. While in jail he realizes all of the unjust laws in his country and decides that once he becomes king he will make his country just again.

  • The conflict is that the boys realize that they like their old lives better, and they want them back
  • resolution
  • Tom is about to crowned king, but the Prince comes and interrupts the ceremony. He then proceeds to say that he is the true Prince, and Tom agrees. So Hertford asks the Prince one simple question that only the true prince would know. " Where lies the Great Seal of England ?" He is able to remember that he put it on the armor on the wall.
  • STOP!!!
  • Miles Hendon was granted the right for him and his descendants to sit in the kings presences. Tom doesn't have to go to jail, and instead he is assigned to the kings ward. The prince sends Hugh Hendon to jail until he is needed.
  • They swap back clothes. The prince is crowned king, and they live happily ever after.
