Storyboard Text

  • Brutus is very down about whether he should act with the conspirators. Although he loves Caesar, he has received a letter (thinking it is a common Roman) concerning the rule of Caesar. However he isn't completely convinced.
  • "And therefore think him as a serpent’s egg— Which, hatched, would as his kind grow mischievous— And kill him in the shell."
  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • Some of the conspirators come to Brutus' house to talk to him. He, at first, isn't so sure about the whole assassination, but after vetoing three plans, he decides to do it for the people of Rome.
  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • It's for the people, Brutus, it's for the people....
  • Act 2 Scene 1
  • Portia urges Brutus to tell her what's been going on, even stabbing herself to prove her trustworthiness. He soon promises to tell her, but has to leave before telling her.
  • "Giving myself a voluntary wound Here in the thigh. Can I bear that with patience, And not my husband’s secrets?"
  • Calpurnia questions whether Julius Caesar should go out based on a nightmare she had. However, Decius convinces Caesar that he would be unmanly if he didn't go.
  • Then I'm definitely going!
  • "...the senate have concluded to give this day a crown to mighty Caesar."
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • He has no clue what he's getting into!
  • Brutus, Cassius, and others meet at Caesar's house and get ready to lead him to the capitol.
  • Act 2 Scene 2
  • "...There is but one mind in all these men, and it is bent against Caesar. If thou beest not immortal, look about you. Security gives way to conspiracy. The mighty gods defend thee!      Thy lover,      Artemidorus”
  • Artemidorus reads the letter he wrote to Caesar out loud. It lists many people that Caesar should not trust and also shows the man's feelings towards Caesar.
  • Act 2 Scene 3
