  • Two girls on their way to a old fashioned home based off the Oregon Trail

  • This is kind of boring
  • And, The first thing they would do is build a barn. They would also hold dances for fun
  • Later...
  • The whole family would have to help out on the farm in order to survive, so the kids would go to school in the summer and winter only.

  • In addition to helping on the farm a few of the duties the woman of the farm would have to do is spinning wool into yarn or flax into thread Pioneers would make soap out of lye, water and ashes. Typical work of the kids on the farm included getting water, tending to the fire, Milking the cow, and churning the milk into butter.
  • Who helped us early settlers?
  • The Native Americans often helped us settlers, they showed us what plants were ok to eat and use as medicine

  • The settlers didn’t have bathrooms or running water, so they would use outhouses and corn husks
