The accused would have to walk approximately 3 paces over red hot ploughshares or holding a red hot iron bar.
Their hands would then be bandaged and left for three days to see if the burns were healing or festering.
After three days, a priest would examine the burns. If they were healing, then God had intervened to show they were innocent. If the wounds where festering, they were guilty and would either be exiled or executed.
God has not intervened in the healing of her wounds, she is guilty.
