  • Lily Owens talks about how she lies in bed at night watching all of the bees fly around her. She talks about how strange it is that they come in all of the time.
  • Climax
  • In this scene, T. Ray makes Lily kneel on grits because he found her outside in the morning with her shirt kind of open. He believed that she had met a boy at night out there. So he punished her for it.
  • Falling Action
  • After all of the walking Lily and Rosaleen have to find a place to sleep and as they look they begin to argue. Rosaleen feels that Lily is just dragging her around like a pet which makes Lily upset because that isn't what she is doing.
  • Resolution
  • In this scene Rosaleen, June, August, and Lily go looking for May because she has been gone for a long time now. When they find her she is under water.
  • Finally after lying to August for all of these weeks, Lily tells her the truth. Although August already knew she just wanted to wait for Lily to be comfortable enough to talk about it
  • In this final scene T. Ray shows up at the house. He has come to pick up Lily and take her home, but she doesn't want to go home. They argue and argue till finally Lily calls him Daddy. He was so shocked because she had never said that before. August and the rest of the women all stood next to Lily and told T. Ray that she would stay with them.
