  •  "America's future will be determined by the home and the school. The child becomes largely what he is taught; hence we must watch what we teach, and how we live."
  • Full name, Laura Jane Addams was born on September 6, 1860, in Cedarville, Illinoi. She was born to the state senator and businessman. Her father was also close friends with Abraham Lincoln. Early on, Jane had many health issues, but that didn't stop her. After graduating, attending medical school, and doing lots of studying and hard work, she made the "Hull House" which helped immigrants or the poor living near.
  • Jane was a social activist and pacifist. She made the Hull House which was made out of believing in fairness and "doing larger good". This was such a huge accomplishment because it saved lives. Jane also published a book called "Newer Ideals of Peace" that told her views on war, peace and other economic subjects. With her determination to make the world a better place, came her biggest accomplishment. She was granted the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931!
  • The importance of Jane Addams was that she worked hard not only for herself, but for others. She made the Hull House which could possibly save many lives and was such a good act for our society that many rewards were gained for her behavior.
