Not to worry! If the non-specific immune defense fails, specific immunity takes over. This starts with recognition of the invader by Phagocytes.
B cells come through and mark the cells with antibodies
The phagocytes ingest the pathogen and display antigens on it's surface
Killer T cells destroy cells marked with the antibodies, killing the invader..
So you're going to be just fine young lady. You immune system just needs some time to fight off the infection.
And even better, next time you're out and about and encounter this same pathogen, your Memory B-cells will know exactly what to do! They will immediately start to produce antibodies so your immune system knows what to do very quickly.
The next day... Back to the fair!
