B cells come through and mark the cells with antibodies
The phagocytes ingest the pathogen and display antigens on it's surface
Killer T cells destroy cells marked with the antibodies, killing the invader..
So you're going to be just fine young lady. You immune system just needs some time to fight off the infection.
