Joan of Arc was just a normal peasant girl. She attended mass and frequently prayed. But one day she heard saints telling her to go find Charles and help him become king.
God is that you?!?!
France has been at war with the English, and an English king takes the french throne. Charles becomes upset because he is the Dauphin to the French throne not Henry's (the English king) son.
Joan decides to join the French army to help Charles gain the throne.
After meeting up with Charles, Joan started to head back to France with Charles, but they ran into a French city, held by the English. Charles got her some armour and she told them they'd find a sword for her in a church and sure enough they did.

During some panic, the city gates get closed trapping Joan outside. Sadly, Charles made no effort to save her, leaving her to eventually get ransomed by the English.
The English and the Catholic Church put her on trial for Witchcraft and heresy, they were on a mission to prove that she wasn't sent from God. For the fear of her life she signed a confession but later admitted that she signed it out of fear. Then she was burned.
24 years later they reopened her case and she was found innocent, because of her heroism and courage she was made a saint. This shows how someone with small beginnings can go far with just courage, determination, and faith.
