After failed attempts to obtain a divorce from his first wife Catherine of Aragon, King Henry VIII took momentous steps that led to The Reformation.
King Henry was within Catholicism but this changed when the pope denied Henry's request for a divorce.
Through the passing of the Act of Supremacy created by Henry VIII and his parliament, England Broke away from the Roman Catholic Church.
The Church of England became independent from the Roman Church and Henry VIII I was appointed as leader of the church.
The Pope had no influence over any religious matters in England and Henry VIII ends civil war (War of Roses) and built an army.
