Storyboard Text

  • The Energy Cycle! By: Amanda Browne
  • How do we get oxygen? Where does it come from?
  • A process called photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
  • See this tree? Everyday it takes carbon dioxide, water, and energy from the sun and turns it into oxygen and glucose! But without us it couldn't survive.
  • Well why does it need us? Is this because of cellular respiration?
  • Exactly. Cellular respiration is when plants and animals take oxygen and glucose to create water, carbon dioxide, and ATP energy.
  • Wow. So plants and animals both need each other to survive!
  • Exactly, it is called the energy cycle! But you should know that photosynthesis only occurs during the day in the chloroplast, cellular respiration is day and night in the mitochondria!
