As of right now the USA consumes the most natural gas in the world. We use around 773,200, 000 thousand cubic meters of natural gas, followed by Russia,China, and Iran
Natural gas lives beneath the Earth's surface.Way beneath where I live. Natural gas like coal and oil all consist of mainly of decayed remains that were buried under sand and silt (although natural gas itself mainly is made up of methane), and then pressure and changing heats transformed it into what we know as fossil fuels.
The worst part is that while natural gas may be a cleaner energy source, there are many downsides to using it. Even though the government has strict regulations regarding the processing, there are cases where appliances aren't taken care of or faulty, which can lead to leaks, which can lead to carbon monoxide poisoning
Right now America's main energy source is petroleum, and following behind it is natural gas.
One thing we could focus on is switching over fully to natural gases, as they are cleaner than oil. By doing it would give the U.S more time to switch over to more usage of renewable energy sources. We should also focus on improving the way we transport the gases, or at least the tanks that hold the natural gases.
This is an absolute money crisis, we must give "donations" to those corrupt politicians so we can continue to profit off our oil!!
One of the outcomes of switching to natural gas completely, is oil companies will definitely be against it, and they can make sure that politicians don't allow the switch, by using money, and lobbyists.
By making these changes, especially eliminating America's usage of oil/petroleum we can greatly affect the amount of CO2 in our air and water. It will definitely be a huge hit to the economy as the oil industry makes billions, but it has potential to greatly improve quality of life.
