Zodiac had enough of the police "telling lies" about the murders or letters so he wrote to the Chronicle a letter stating "When I comitt my murders, they shall look like routine robberies, killings of anger, &a few fake accidents..." This scared the police and investigators because now it will be even more difficult to find the murderer. (Monday, November 10, 1969)
BATES HAD TO DIE THERE WILL BE MORE
The Zodiac gave the Chronicle a cipher and said "My name is-" (followed by the 13 symboled cipher). The police went crazy over this because they wanted to believe that if they could crack the code they could find the killer once and for all. (Sunday, April 19, 1970)
Paul Avery the Chronicle's top investigative reporter, had written most of the information about the Zodiac on the paper. He had received a letter addressed to him from the Zodiac threatening him. (Wednesday, October 6, 1970)
DO NOT ENTER
The Riverside Press Enterprise ran an article about the Zodiac and he was not happy about it. He sent a letter to the Chronicle and it stated "BATES HAD TO DIE THERE WILL BE MORE." He killed again after the letter was received. (Monday, November 9, 1970)
The first Zodiac letter in four years. The Zodiac went ghost but he is back again, to kill. He states "I am now in control of all things." This made the local police feel threatened. (Monday, April 24, 1978)
The zodiac was never caught (even still to this day). They have had over 1000 Zodiac suspects, but still have not caught him. If the Zodiac was found he would most likely be in his mid 70's early 80's.
