  • Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette live comfortably in Versailles. The Old Regime puts royalty on the highest status.
  • The peasants which were in the Third Estate paid all the taxes and couldn't afford bread since the price of wheat shot up.
  • After being locked out of a Estates-General meeting, the third estate renamed themselves the "National Assembly" and began drafting a constitution "The Declaration of the Rights of Man" during the Tennis Court Oath.
  • Robespierre seized power, beginning his Reign of Terror. He actively used the guillotine to silence citizens who disagreed with his policies.
  • People were not happy with Robespierre and some still sided with the monarchy.
  • After Robespierre is executed, Napoleon got into power soon after in a coup d'etat.
