Etruscan sports on the Romans
Romulus and Remus were brothers born into royalty.Their uncle did not want them to be future rulers, so he had them thrown into a river to drown and die. They were rescued from the river and raised by wolfs, but then were taken in by a man living in the woods, and found out they were royalty.They went to see their mother, and by celebrating, they built city's. They could not agree what to call it, so the brothers fought to the death, and Romulus won, thus naming the city Rome.
Greek influence of architecture on the Roman
Romans learned techniques about engineering from the Etruscans. Two important Etruscan structures the Romans adapted were the arch and the cuniculus.(picture above shows an arch)
Greek influence of writing, art, and religion on the Romans
Romans adopted slave fighting. he Etruscan custom was to stage slave fights during funerals. Two slaves of the dead master fought to the death with swords and small shields. After being congratulated, the winner was executed.he Etruscan also enjoyed watching chariot races. The charioteers, or drivers, were strapped to their chariots. If a chariot overturned, a driver could be dragged under the chariot’s wheels or trampled by the horses.
The Romans were builders, engineers, and architects in their own way, but when they conquered the western world, they were heavily influenced by the Greeks use of the Ionic, Doric, and Corinthian
