- Hey there! would you like to come with me to work? i can teach you everything you need to know about The congress!
- I work in the Congress along with 534 other people. I am a U.S. senator of Utah and there are 2 senators per state. i serve 6 year terms.
- would you like to meet one of our House of representatives? He can tell you more about being a House of Representative
- some requirements to be a senator is that you have to be at least 30 years old. you also need to be a U.S, citizen of at least 9 years.
- This is Blake Moore. He is the U.S. Representative for Utahs 1st congressional district.
- Hi i serve 2 year terms in the House of Representative, but i am able to re-elect as many times as i want
- can i be in the House of Representative?
- If you are at least 25, a citizen of the U.S for 7 years or more, and currently live in the U.S, then yes!
- The Congress as a whole writes laws, grants money, can declare war, and many other things
- Just like they do with us! That's called checks and balances!
- Its the legislative branches job to make sure the executive and judicial branch doesn't have too much power
