  • This is Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian physicist and astronomer. His father, Vincenzo was a well known musician. He wanted Galileo to be a doctor. He was sent to the University of Pisa to study medicine.
  • Galileo was born on Febrary 15, 1564 in Pisa Italy and died January 8, 1642.
  • He discovered the 4 most massive moons of Jupiter and that the sun and the other planets don't orbit around the earth.
  • Galileo made his own telescope. He was the first person to look at the moon through a telescope and make his first astronomy discovery. He found out that the moon was not smooth but, is rough.
  • Galileo also made a hydrostatic balance to measure small objects. He was inspired by the story Archimendes.
  • He discovered that objects fall at the same rate, proving his prediction true.
