Ciao fellow Venetian merchants! I am here today to inform you on why we interact with the Islamic civilization. Sit down have a croissant and listen up.
After the Byzantines lost to the Islamic Caliphates, Venetians came in contact with the Muslims and their culture. This was HUGEEE for trade, so Im glad it happened because now we can make the big coins.
Look around your hometown of Venice. Do you notice the art? The majority of the art here is influenced from the Islamic civilization!
See this lovely human about to go into this Islamic mosque. Well, without this relationship between Him (the Ottoman Empire) and I (Venice) we couldn't have gained a lot of wealth.
Is this one of the those Venetian merchants that helped us to become the most powerful political entities in the world?! That is cool. Thanks man!
The Islamic Empire increased our wealth with the help of our ship expertise, and the Ottoman's access to valuable goods, we joined forces. This makes us merchants pretty happy.
We trade things like spices, soap, industrial supplies, carpets, velvets, silks, illustrated manuscripts, glass, and more. This stuff is fancy. I feel so high class. I may need to even use some of this silk and whip up a suit to look more professional.
Also thanks to those good ole Islamic scholars discovering the number system and the zero, keeping accounting records is so much simpler. This makes our lives easier Hooray! Merchants, your welcome.
