Storyboard Text

  • No, you are not even 21. Alcohol can be extremely dangerous...here's why
  • hey, fetch me a brewski?
  • Well I've heard that alcohol also effects mood swings which can cause depression and rage
  • Yes. And a study done for people in hospitals for suicide attempts found that alcoholics were 75 times more likely to successfully commit suicide than suicidal people who are non-alcoholics
  • oh...I've also heard that alcohol is used as a sedative and you need more and more every time which interferes with the normal process needed for our brains to have the ability to sleep
  • Absolutely. And it affects your memory. Your brain processes become slower because of the alcohol to the extent of memory loss when drinking large amounts.
  • so what will it do to me physically?
  • If  you drink for a long time, it affects how your brain works and it can even shrink. When it shrinks, it impairs your ability to think, learn, and remember things
  • You're right! And alcohol irritates the lining of your stomach and makes your digestive juices flow. When enough acid and alcohol build up, you can throw up. Years of heavy drinking can cause stomach sores.
  • Wow. I've heard that it can also weaken your immune system, making our bodies an easier target for diseases like pneumonia
  • Well, thank you for warning me of all these dangers alcohol causes, I was not aware of some of those things
  • Of course! Stay safe and do not drink underage and even when you are of age be extremely careful!
