Tarpeia: A Story of Betrayal
This storyboard does not have a description.
Nine months ago, the Romans captured the Sabine women and made them their wives.
Tarpeia's new husband was not a fearsome man, but she longed for her Sabine beloved to free her from Rome.
Unbeknownst to their former wives, the Sabines had been steadily raising an army since the day of Rome's attack, and were ready to retaliate.
However, once the Sabine leader Titus Tatius approached the walled city, he found no doors through which the Sabines could enter.
Tarpeia showed the Sabines the secret door to Rome, betraying her new husband and new city.
However, Tarpeia demanded gold in exchange for letting them into Rome. Feeling betrayed that Tarpeia chose greed over her allegiance to them, the Sabines killed her and stormed the door.
