Storyboard Text
In 1767, the Townshend Acts were put in place
These acts included taxings glass, paint, lead, paper, and tea which were things colonists needed
The colonists did not appreciate being taxed for their everyday needs and thought it was incredibly unfair
The reason for Parlement put the Townshend acts into place is because they needed money from their recent war with France
The colonists organized protests against the Townshend Acts and one even led to the Boston Massacre
