  • Are you serious another tax, those sugar sticks!
  • Amazing
  • The French and Indian war was a gruesome war that fought for dominance. The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris that concluded that French give up most of their land ownership in North America to Spanish and English. This and many other things gave British all land east of the Mississippi.
  • Sons of Liberty
  • No Taxation without Representation!!
  • After the end of the war the British were put into a heavy amount of debt that they could not afford. British King George III decided to put in George Greenville to get them out of debt. Greenville decided to put taxes on the colonists cause of their protection against the French during the war.
  • Great Britain
  • They are making us look like fools!!
  • We need to let them know we control them!
  • After the failure of the Sugar Act not making enough for the British and the Boycotts that were created after the sugar act it was repealed. Next came along the stamp act on legal documents and all paper goods. Angering colonists, lawyers, and newspaper men they took to the streets.
  • Declaratory Act
  • You just wait till we do something big.
  • After the anger arose from the the colonists the Sons of Liberty was form. To fight these acts and plan boycotts. The Stamp Act brought even more boycotts and more loyalists switching to the patriots.
  • Parliament passed the Declaratory Act to reaffirm its legislative power of colonists. Britain wanted colonists to know that they had all the power over them and could control in any way. They needed more control because of the past failed attempts at good tax funds, they sent more british troops to get colonists in line.
  • We need to Tax them!
  • The Declaratory Act stated that Britain could tax the colonists without any representation in parliament. This removed the Stamp Act but it already angered the colonists enough to have a large amount of people to become patriots. With the passing of this act it showed the people that they could affect the greatest country of the 1700s
  • Declaratory ActWe basicallycontrol you now.
