scientific revolution and enlightment
This storyboard does not have a description.
I have an idea how about I make a telescope that will allow me to better see and understand the universe
With my advanced telescope I was able to see that the universe is actually heliocentric so I agree with Copernicus so therefore I would be proving the Catholic church incorrect
I have discovered that Copernicus is correct so the universe is heliocentric
he's going to get in trouble by the church
You shall not share your ideas
...but the universe is heliocentric, I will have to recant
Galileo recanted but his ideas were great he revolutionized the telescope and brought enlightenment with his new ideas as well as other scientist. The were other enlightenment thinkers like, John Locke, Baron de Montesquieu, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, and Wollstonecraft.
John Locke believed every man has the right to life but if they aren't allowed by the government they are allowed to over throw it. Montesquieu believed that in order for a government not to become corrupt it must be divided into 3 powers (Executive, Judicial, Legislative). Wollstonecraft believed all people of any sex should be treated equal. Locke believed the government must meet the needs of its people and the people must follow their rules (Social contract). Voltaire believed Government and religion should be separated and every man should have freedom of expression and religion.
