Langston Hughes spent his early life with his grandmother in Lawrence, Kansas. His grandmother often told stories of African American heros. Langston Hughes listened to these stories and dreamed.

When Hughes was old enough he moved to a place called Harlem. Harlem was the place where many successful African Americans started out. Including Hughes. This is when his carrier started.
Langston Hughes continued his life through writing. He wrote poem, books, and more all mostly explaining what it was like being an African American during segregation. He inspired young readers through his books and poems.
sadly everything will come to an end. Langston Hughes legacy had been a successes. His ashes were barred beneath the entrance of the Arthur Schaumburg center. We will forever remember his many poem and books.
