  • International Human Rights Day  International Human Rights Day is the day that the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. 
  • Harsh Criminal Sentencing More than 2.2 million Americans are imprisoned. 325.7 million people live in America today and more than 2.2 million live in a prison.  
  • Criminal sentencing has gotten worse over the years. 
  • Most of the over incarceration sentences are due to the excessive sentencing given. 
  • There are concerns about over incarceration. It is partly due to mandatory minimum sentencing. 
  • Thirty one states in the US impose (force) the death penalty. In 2017 when the article  "Harsh Criminal Sentencing" was written, 23 people were already killed, by lethal injection. 
  • Several US states continue to use drugs that they are experimenting with and are refusing to stop their experiments
