Storyboard Text

  • Well time to go to work . . . again.
  • At least the weeks almost over which means another week of work done
  • Well like any other day I start off by breaking coal for the machines. Then I have to check the machines and do any repairs
  • What Happened ?
  • Shhhh, don't say that
  • I can't take these conditions, I might die if work continues like this !
  • ughh, I was asked to fix this thing but when I when to I got electrocuted
  • Workers getting ready to start a long day at the factory
  • Well, It's the only thing I can afford
  • Workers from the factory had a daily routine of what they had to do
  • Dang, it's really dark, time flies by...
  • Conditions in the factory were terrible, there was no safety on any equipment and it's was a place prone for injuries. Also a lot of the workers had Social/emotional dangers. Workers were afraid they will lose their job if they complained about conditions in the factories
  • Ughh, I don't want to go to work tomorrow
  • Well I guess I can take tomorrow off, I already got my 6 days in so . . . goodnight.
  • Though a lot of workers worked a lot they still got little compensation for what they did in the factories .Men got 10 shillings and woman got 5 shillings per week. If you calculate to modern day money 10 shillings is about a $1.10 which isn't even enough to get milk today
  • Workers were required to work for 12 hours a day at the mines.
  • Workers were required to work for at least 6 days a week
